Payment requests, invoices and renewals
Updated 7 November 2026
How we bill you, from the first order to cancelling a service.
Payment request first, invoice after
When you order something, or when a renewal comes up, you first get a payment request. Its reference starts with P-, for example P-3ADJ3F2R. It isn't an invoice yet: the invoice, with its own number, is created the moment you pay. You find both under Billing.
So if you see a payment request for something you didn't mean to order, or don't want to renew, you owe nothing yet. Just let us know and we'll withdraw it.
Renewals
About two weeks before a service's paid period ends, we create the renewal payment request. You choose how it gets paid, under Billing:
- Auto-pay: we charge your saved card, so nothing to remember. This works with cards only.
- Pay manually: we email you the payment request and you pay it yourself, with any of the payment methods.
If a renewal stays unpaid, the service is suspended. Pay the open request and it's switched back on.
Paid something twice by accident? Open a ticket: we refund the second payment, or keep it as credit for your next invoice, whichever you prefer.
Cancel a service
- Open Billing and go to Subscriptions.
- Click Cancel next to the service and confirm.
What happens next depends on what's paid:
- Paid period still running: the service keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. It doesn't renew, and is then permanently deleted, together with its data. There's no refund for the remaining time.
- Renewal not paid yet: the open renewal is cancelled, so you don't owe it.
- New order not paid yet: the order is cancelled and you owe nothing.
Make sure you've copied any data you want to keep before the end date.
Upgrades and downgrades
With Change plan you pay the difference for the rest of the current period. A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal.
