Managed databases, with updates and backups included
Choose PostgreSQL, MySQL or Valkey on its own virtual machine in Ghent. We handle updates and daily backups. You control users, connections and capacity.
Three engines, one dashboard
- PostgreSQL 18 Live
PgBouncer for connection pooling, TLS-only connections, daily encrypted backups, an admin without superuser rights and engine settings from a safe list.
- MySQL 8.4 LTS Live
MySQL 8.4 LTS with InnoDB, TLS required on every connection, and daily backups.
- Valkey 9.1 Live
The open-source fork of Redis. Users scoped to key prefixes and channels, a cache or a durable mode, and daily backups.
Included with every managed database
-
Its own virtual machine
Each instance runs on its own VM. No neighbours inside your engine.
-
Closed by default
The database doesn't listen on the internet. Open it to a list of addresses when you need to, or keep it on your private network.
-
Daily backups and restore
Choose the hour and how many to keep. Restore in place, with a safety backup first, or into a new instance.
-
Storage that grows online
Add storage and the disk grows while your database keeps running.
-
Resize
Move to a bigger plan when you need it. The disk grows online; CPU and RAM change with a clean restart.
-
A user per application
Create users from role templates such as read/write and read-only, one for each application.
-
A maintenance window you choose
Updates happen in a weekly 60-minute window that you can move to a quiet moment.
-
Live figures and logs
Connections, size and cache figures, graphs of CPU, memory, disk and network, and the engine's log.
Manage your database from your dashboard
Everything about your database sits in the same dashboard as your servers. These are the screens you'll use most.
-
Connection strings
Ready to copy for the private and the public endpoint, with the CA bundle to verify the certificate.
-
Users
Create, rotate and remove users. A new password is shown once.
-
Backups and restore
Every backup with its size and how long it's kept. Restore in place or into a new instance.
-
Settings and figures
Parameters, maintenance window, storage, live figures and the engine's log.
Manage your database from your pipeline
Users, backups, restores, storage and settings are all API calls. This token is limited to databases.
Back up before every deploy →export FAASTIC_TOKEN=fst_… # read/write, area: databases
export ORG=… SERVICE=… # your organization and the database service
curl -s -X POST "https://api.faastic.com/v1/orgs/$ORG/services/$SERVICE/data/users" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $FAASTIC_TOKEN" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name":"app_rw","role":"readwrite"}'
# → the password is returned once, with ready-to-paste connection strings # Back up now (runs in the background; follow the returned task)
curl -s -X POST "https://api.faastic.com/v1/orgs/$ORG/services/$SERVICE/data/backups" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $FAASTIC_TOKEN"
# Storage: the plan's disk, extra storage added, and how much more can be added
curl -s "https://api.faastic.com/v1/orgs/$ORG/services/$SERVICE/data/storage" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $FAASTIC_TOKEN" The rest of your stack
- Live Cloud servers KVM servers with IPv4, an IPv6 /64, firewalls and backups.
- Live Load balancers Managed HAProxy with health checks and free TLS certificates.
- Live Private networks Your servers, load balancer and database on a network of their own.
- Live Object storage S3-compatible buckets, a key per app, storage that grows.
Frequently asked questions
Which databases can I run?
PostgreSQL 18, MySQL 8.4 LTS and Valkey 9.1, the open-source fork of Redis. Each instance runs on its own virtual machine.
Can I connect to my database from outside Faastic?
Yes, if you choose to. A database is closed to the internet by default. You can open it to a list of addresses you trust, or reach it privately from your servers over a private network.
Are backups included?
Yes. Every database is backed up daily, at the hour you choose, and you decide how many backups to keep. You can restore one in place or into a new instance.
What happens when my database grows?
Add storage and the disk grows online, without a restart. When you need more CPU or RAM, move to a bigger plan; that takes a clean restart.
Is Valkey the same as Redis?
Valkey is the open-source fork of Redis. It speaks the same protocol, so it works with the Redis clients you already use.
Is high availability available?
Not yet. Each database runs as a single node for now, with daily backups and restore. We'd rather tell you that up front, so you can plan for it.
Add it to your stack
Order a database in the dashboard, next to your servers, on the same network and the same invoice.
