What your storage includes
Aktualisiert 7. November 2026
Our storage is simple, affordable disk space. Here's what it does and doesn't include, so you can decide what to keep on it.
Snapshots
Under Snapshots in the dashboard you can make a point-in-time copy of your volume, for example before a big change. Give it a name and create it. Snapshots live on the same storage as your data, so they protect you against mistakes, such as deleting the wrong folder, not against a broken server.
No backup on our side
We don't make backups of your storage, and we don't keep a copy in another location. Your data sits on ZFS on our servers in Ghent, but that's not a backup. If something goes wrong with the server, data can be lost.
So never keep your only copy of important data here. Use our storage as one of your copies, with another one elsewhere: at home, in the office or at another provider.
Each plan is its own share
Every storage plan you order is a separate share, with its own username and password. Two plans of 1 TB give you two shares of 1 TB, not one of 2 TB, and shares can't be merged. Running out of space on a share? Open a ticket under Support and we'll look at the options with you.
Protocols
SMB and NFS work right away, SFTP on request. There's no shell access, so rsync over SSH and Borg don't work. Restic over SFTP does. See Connect to your storage.
