Blocked after too many failed logins
Bijgewerkt 7 november 2026
Your website, webmail or mail app suddenly can't connect, while it works fine from your phone on mobile data? Then your IP address is probably blocked by our web hosting server.
Why it happens
To stop password-guessing attacks, the server blocks an IP address after too many failed logins. It doesn't look at who you are, only at the address. The usual causes:
- A mail app, phone or old device that still tries an old password, for example after you changed it or moved from another provider.
- Copying many mailboxes at once from your old provider, which opens a lot of connections in a short time.
- Someone on the same network (office, home) with a wrong password.
What to do
- Find the device or app with the wrong password and correct it, or remove that account from it. Otherwise the block comes back.
- Wait. The block is lifted automatically after a while, usually within a few hours.
- In a hurry? Open a ticket under Support with your public IP address (look it up at ifconfig.co). We'll lift the block and tell you what caused it.
Restarting your internet modem sometimes gives you a new IP address, which also gets you in again. But fix the cause first, or the new address gets blocked too.
Moving mail from another provider
Copy one or two mailboxes at a time, not all of them at once.
